A clear design process serves as a roadmap, ensuring that we always know where we are, and where we are going. Here’s the simple 5-step process I use for my projects:

Based on your initial written brief (i.e. basic project specs and outline), I will draft a Project Proposal containing a detailed Scope of Work, Cost Estimate, Timeline and Terms and Conditions. You are welcome to review and amend the Proposal until you are completely happy with it. Once you are ready to proceed, you can sign and send it back to me along with Proof of Payment for your deposit. This will make your acceptance official and reserve your place in my schedule.
Then the fun can begin!

Once we have the paperwork out of the way, I will prepare a few questions to help me understand your business and project objectives, as well as capture your creative ideas and vision for the project. If you like, we can discuss these questions over a free 30-minute Skype interview, or alternatively, I can send you a questionnaire to complete at your leisure.

3. DesigN

The following milestones may vary depending on the type of project, and whether any additional services (such as content creation or print management) are required, but the following outlines should apply for most projects:

Phase 1 – Research
Phase 2 – Concept Development
Phase 3 – Presentation, Feedback + Sign-off

Phase 1 – Research
Phase 2 – Concept Development (Sitemap, Style Tiles)
Phase 3 – Design + Layout (Wireframes, Comps)
Phase 4 – Development Site
Phase 5 – Staging Site +Testing + Sign-off

More specific details on the Process, Terms and Timeframe for each of my packages can be found on their respective detail pages (e.g. the Start-up Special Package detail page), in the Package Description tabs underneath the main package image.

4. Delivery

Once the design has been signed off, the final implementation phase will begin, and then we should be on schedule for delivery! I’ll package your artwork and instructions, and make sure you have everything you need to make the most of your new website and/or print materials.

5. Support

I care very much about seeing your new website look good and perform well, so I will be checking in to make sure you are 100% happy with the final product, and to see if I can be of any further assistance.

And, as mentioned on the Web Design Services page, for the first 3 months after a new website is launched, site maintenance is included! After the initial 3 month period, you can either take over the updates and backups yourself (don’t worry – I will send you instructions!), or for complete convenience and peace of mind, you can hire me to continue maintaining your site for only R200 p/m.
